Kathleen McNally, Organist and Director of Music

Kathleen McNally came to Our Lady of Grace in August of 2016.

Kathleen oversees OLG's historic Grand Organ (Wirsching, 1909). She also directs the Adult Choir of mixed adult voices, as well as the Children's choir.  Both choirs learn the fundamentals of voice production. The choirs of OLG provide first-time singing experiences for several members.

About Kathleen
Kathleen earned her A.B. in Music from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia and her M.A. from New Jersey City University.  Over the last 40 years, she has been the Music Director of St. Henry in Bayonne, Most Holy Name in Garfield, Sacred Heart in Bloomfield and Our Lady of the Assumption in Bayonne.
She has had chiors in English, Italian, and Spanish and has alway had a children's choir.

The Adult Choir
Music is a vital part of the sacred liturgy.  Along with our wonderful 1909 Wirsching Grand Organ (a New Jersey and Hoboken treasure!), OLG features an Adult Choir, composed of dedicated, hard-working parishioners.  We always welcome more singers of all voice parts.  Both Kathleen and the current members extend a warm invitation for your participation.  The commitment runs from the weekend after Labor Day through the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ, which normally occurs during June.  Choral singing is one of the most rewarding activities for its camaraderie, synergy, and elevated form of prayer.

We pray through our music, as we learn and enjoy each other's friendship.  Rehearsals are on Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9pm. We hope that you will consider being part of this very vital ministry.

The Children's Choir
Young voices singing has long been a tradition of great churches. The Children's Choir experience will expose young singers to different types of sacred music. This choir sings at Mass on a monthly basis. The children often provide special music for communion and especially for feast days of the church.  Choir is a wonderful opportunity for young people to learn the rewards music can provide, as it fills young souls with joy and minds with knowledge.

Children learn how to work as part of a team, set goals for themselves, and feel pride in the satisfaction of accomplishment, both individually and communally. Membership in this program is open to all children.  Please encourage your child to be a part of this exciting new venture by contacting Kathleen for further information. Rehearsals are each Tuesday, 3:30 - 4:15pm, and the season runs from the weekend after Labor Day until the Feast of the Body & Blood of Christ (during June).
